A leading provider of Medicare counseling and services opens new location.

The Medicare Store — an unbiased insurance agency that works with major insurance companies to offer Medicare supplement and Medicare Advantage plans — has opened its first Reno location at 1870 Vassar St, Ste 2. The store’s insurance agents are dedicated to educating Medicare-eligible individuals on all of their options at no cost.

Since launching in Southern Nevada, The Medicare Store has helped insure over 10,000 Nevadans in a mere eight years. Because of its unique relationship-based business model, the company has successfully expanded its services to represent Medicare Advantage plans in Las Vegas, Reno, and throughout the state of Nevada.

Due to the complexities surrounding Medicare enrollment, The Medicare Store provides impartial advice while highlighting different benefits and premiums from a variety of insurance companies. Licensed agents offer home visits as well as phone or in-store appointments to aid eligible residents in finding the best insurance plan for their needs.

At the time, according to HealthInsurance.com, only 36 percent of people who were eligible for Medicare Advantage plans were applying for plans in Nevada. The US Census Bureau estimated that there were more than 684,000 Nevada residents over the age of 65, or with a disability under the age of 65, who may qualify for life-altering benefits that can increase accessibility, lower costs, and add to the quality of care.

“We consider ourselves advocates for our Medicare clients. Their best interests are always what we consider when recommending a Medicare plan,” said Calvin Bagley, President/CEO of The Medicare Store. “We have educated, independent agents who are certified to provide information on several providers, plans, and benefits to create a comprehensive overview of Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Supplements in Nevada. Our agents are unbiased. They don’t push one provider over another. They work with people to find the best Medicare plan for their needs.”

During the one-on-one appointments, agents explain Original Medicare, then discuss how Medicare insurance plans like Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans work. Agents also provide a full review of prescription drug plans to ensure that residents are not overpaying for their prescription drug coverage.

The Medicare Store works with most national and regional providers of Medicare products.
