We get asked these questions the most about Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas:

  • What is Medicare Advantage?
  • What are my Medicare Advantage options?
  • How do I get a Medicare Advantage Plan?

What is Medicare Advantage?

You have the choice to get your Medicare benefits through Original Medicare, or a Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO). If you have Original Medicare, the government pays for your Medicare benefits when you use them. Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas is offered by private insurance companies who are approved by Medicare. Medicare then pays the insurance company to cover your Medicare benefits. If you join a Medicare Advantage Plan, the insurance company will cover all of your Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) coverage. Your Medicare Advantage plan may also give you prescription drug coverage or other benefits like dental, vision, and transportation coverage.

What are my Medicare Advantage options?

When it comes to Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas, you can choose between Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), and Special Needs Plans (SNPs) which are a variation on an HMO. You may have read online about Private Fee For Service (PFFS) plans, and Medicare Cost Plans. Some of these options are not currently available in Nevada. It may seem overwhelming but in the simplest terms, you have two basic options when you choose Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas: HMO or PPO. When you join Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas you should know that all of the Medicare Advantage plans currently offered here include Prescription Drug Coverage known as Medicare Part C.

How do I get a Medicare Advantage Plan in Las Vegas?

To join a Medicare Advantage plan in Las Vegas, you must have Original Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance). Even though your Medicare benefits will come from your Medicare Advantage plan, you still need to keep paying the premium for Medicare Part B. To join Medicare Advantage in Las Vegas you need to meet with an agent who represents the plan. The agent will explain the details of the plan and enroll you. What makes the Medicare Store so unique is that we are agents with every Medicare plan in Las Vegas. We don’t try to persuade you one way or another. We help you make an informed decision about which Medicare Advantage plan you want to join and we enroll you into that plan. Best of all, there is no cost to you for our services.

How we can help:

We work for you, not an insurance company. When we meet, we review your specific needs then match those needs to a Medicare plan.

How we recommend a plan:

If you have a doctor you love, we will determine which plan your doctor accepts. We will also review your prescription medications to ensure you will have good coverage. After that, we recommend a plan that will meet your needs and allow you to see the doctor that is important to you while giving you good coverage for your prescription drugs. When we are finished, you will be confident that your Medicare plan fits your specific needs.

How can we do this without charging you a consultation fee?

When you select a plan, we will be your agent and enroll you and the insurance company will compensate us for helping you. You get the benefit of having an independent insurance agent and there is no additional cost to you.
